Award-winning film director & screenwriter Emily Dell specializes in action, dance and high-energy filmmaking across narrative, commercial and digital. She recently directed promotional spots for Marvel Studios‘ DOCTOR STRANGE and the comedy show “OMG” for DreamWorksTV. Clients in commercials and digital media include Estee Lauder, ScreenCraft, The Science & Entertainment Exchange, The Collective Digital Studios, Ezra Productions and Purina. Dell’s last feature, B-GIRL, was released worldwide, and won “BEST FEATURE” at the LA Femme Film Festival and airs on Showtime, Starz, iTunes, Netflix and Amazon Prime. She is attached to direct the action movie THE RULES OF BUSINESS for The China Film Corporation (The Karate Kid, Transformers 4). Past films have screened at festivals worldwide and won awards including “Audience Award”, “Best Screenplay”, “Best Action” and more.
Dell is the author of the comic book series VERONA for Emet Comics and has taught film for Emerson University, New York Film Academy, National University and The Shanghai Film School. Her writing has been featured on The Huffington Post, ScreenCraft, Women & Hollywood and more. She is the Executive Director of the Nashville Writers Conference, a division of the Nashville Film Festival. She’s recently completed horror short film HELEN (starring Aimee Garcia of “Lucifer”), whose crowdfunding campaign broke the fundraising record on website Seed&Spark. HELEN will premiere on the film festival circuit in 2017. Emily studied film at NYU and the University of California, Berkeley. She is a member of the WGA, Film Fatales and sits on the board of the Alliance of Women Directors.
